My cat has a really bad runny nose

I have a cat that is about 1 year old. We just got it a few months ago. it was a stray. it has no shots yet that we know of. It just came into heat one week ago. We do not have a litter box. it goes outside to go to the bathroom. It just started to have a runny nose. Its been driping like a faucet. If the cat lays down in one area there is a pool of this clear runny nose liquid (about a ten inch cricle) the cat seems to be fine. It has been drinking alot more than normal. and still is eating at this time. What should I do.

unfortunately without a proper exxamination by the vet it is impossible to say what the runny nose is caused by.
it could be a cold or the beginings of cat flu or it could even be an allergic reaction to something. Without a proper diagnosis it is impossible to treat.
i do have some web pages here about cat flue and cat allergies which you may find of interest but really the sooner the cat can be seen by a vet and to start receiving their shots etc the better to prevent any further ill health and possible expensive vet bills.

I hope your cat is well soon, it's great that you have decided to look after this stray.
best wishes Kate
