My Cat is leaking a mucousy substance

my 11 year old female cat is leaking a mucousy substance. she is otherwise fine, she is eating, drinking, using the litter box, napping, coming around for attention and affection, just being her normal self. i saw the substance on the kitchen floor by her food dish, twice and on my comforter where she likes to nap during the day. it is cloudy with no odor. she is difficult to get to a vet. she throws a panic attack when she has to get shots. she only responds to her immediate family. her sister from the same litter, is noticing the spots too and sniffing around after i clean them up. she is a confirmed house cat. she only goes out in the car when she has to get shots. she has spent her entire life inside my house. i got her when she was 5 weeks old from a private home and there she has been ever since. she eats some fancy feast wet in the morning, she eats some meow mix wet in the evening and i keep IAMS dry in their dish all day. she does drink an adequate amount of water i have two water bottle type drinking bowls and three litter boxes to accomadate both kitties. i do change all three boxes weekly my house is very clean and large and both kitties have lots of space and favorite spots i am perplexed can you help? thank you

Hi
Unfortunately it sounds like she may have an infection in which case she will need antibiotics.

My advice would be to telephone your vets, explain the difficulties you have taking her to see them and describe the symptoms. they may be able to prescribe some antibiotics over the phone without seeing her. It all depends on your particular vet.

Hope she is better soon

best wishes Kate
