new cat

(New Jersey)

I am a super of a buliding and found out one of my tenants put two of their domesticated cats into the wild. They were indoor cats since they were born, the male is 15 months old the female 4 years old, neither have been fixed yet. My husband and I trapped both cats and they are now in my home waiting to be fixed and seen by the vet. The male cries all the time espiaclly at night which is driving us nuts!!!! We were thinking about keeping these cats so there is no more trauma done to them. We don't want them to get used to us then have to go somewhere else. But My husband and I have not slept in days, Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you

well the male cat is crying to get out because he isn't fixed yet basically. As far as he is concerned his instincts are telling him to get out there. All I can recommend until he has his operation is to play a energetic game with him about an hour before you go to bed, then put him in another room with his litter tray, food and water bowls and plenty of toys to play with.
Until he is fixed there isn't much else you can do I’m afraid.
