new mum cat

my cat had a second litter of kittens yesterday everything went fine and she had 5 babies. this morning she was throwing herself around on top of the kittens my husband thought she was trying to kill them.after we took her away and 5 minutes later she was normal again.then the same thing happened a few hours later its like she doesnt know what she is doing. after the episode she will return to them and wash and feed them as normal.please help

I don't think there is anything to worry about. Cats are normally very good mothers especially if they have had a litter before.

Just let her settle with the kittens and make sure there is enough room in their bed so that the mother cat has plenty of space.
