Not covering her droppings

Our new 3 month old kitten is suddenly not even attempting to cover her droppings/urine. I thought cats ALWAYS covered it?

Hi
As you know cats use their urine and feces as scent markers. It could well be that as your cat moves into adulthood that she is starting to feel the need to stamp her mark on her territory and is leaving her mess uncovered so that it can be both seen and smelt more.
this is a little unusual at 3 months as she is still a little young but cats develop at different rates and there may be other factors at play also, such as a change in the home or environment which may have unsettled her.
I would not worry too much at this stage and just monitor the situation. Perhaps try a different type of litter which may make her feel more comfortable and inclined to dig into.
There are many different types and some are preferred by some cats over others. This page highlights a few of the different types available
