Not sure if my cat has a hairball

My cat is acting a bit like she has a hairball only its not as aggressive of a noise. Its almost like she is salivating while kind of struggling to get something out. Its a bit like spiddle with a little bit of frothiness. Not like shes been poisened frothiness though. She doesnt seem to be in pain and shes not acting any different other then that she is a bit more cuddly? shes about 5 and has never had any medical problems and is an indoor cat. Shes displayed this about 5 times in the last week. What do you think?

well this is very difficult to say. it could be a hairball but it could also be that she may have a problem in her mouth, perhaps a bad tooth or a abscess.

However if this continues and she does bring anything up then i would suggest that you take her to the vets to have her checked out just to make sure that there is nothing else causing this to happen.
