My 8 month old Ragdoll was brought to me at 3 mo's old per my request. He's a replacement for one i lost to FIP, the saddest disease to watch your kitten die and there's nothing u can do but tx. the symptoms. Now i live in fear that something will happen to Bowdie. The breeder promised everything was well and good to go. Bowdie came to me with cat kennel cough, after 3 rounds of antibiotics and acidophlous, which was somewhat of a fluke, by accident one fell on the counter and he picked it up and chewed like a kid would a chewable vita tab. Funny because that is the holistic approach to treating immune problems , also intestinal.. so all that is great! But he also came to me with loose stool. Not diaheara. This continues today, I've done everything i should as far as diet and vet care shots neutering. The breeder told me to transition him to a better food which i did, Iams. he didnt like it due to the size of the kibble, so I switched Him to a "Holistic" cat food. Recommended via the pet store clerk. The vet said he should be on purina and thats that. Im trying to switch him back very gradually. He also eats canned food, but he depends on it several times a day,i sneek dry food in with the wet as much as he will eat. I told the vet he acts likie he has allergies or gastritis. The holistic food was suppose to have the highest protein (pure) as far as all the brands go. The vet did have a point, u dont feed steak to a baby, so why would i feed a cat still considered a kitten. I read the box and the protein level in the Vita Pure is lower than the purina kitten chow. The vita pure is suppose to be for kittens and adults. the vet has a point, .. I am so confused and frustrated, because Bowdie continues to excessively groom and vomits about every other day. I feel like im left with close to 2000.00 of vet bills and still no luck with Ragdolls.. It breaks my heart, hes like my son and anyone who really knows cats ,loves them ,knows what i'm saying. As far as i know there is no medical term "emotional vomiting", but thats what i feel it partially is, he seems to vomit when hes nervous wanting attention and i cant give it to him right then and there. I fully take the blame for teaching him to be so dependent on me for everything. Doesnt want to play unless i play with him. I need help making Bowdie more independent less anxious. I tend to be a nervous person, 53 yrs old so u all know if your my age what this age entels. My vet is not taking me serious. When i took the stool sample in he told me he was clear of all parasites. I told him to ck for guardia and cocidia, being my 1st ragdoll had cocidia. Im lost and would greatly appreciate any help i can get. I dont want him to suffer, thats my #1 concern. This is great u help cat owners . I waited years to get the cat of my dreams,. Im hoping Bowdie and i can live a happy, healthy life together. Thank you very much for any help u can give us. Joan and Bowdie
