Rabies Vaccine for 10-yr. old cat?

I have taken my cat regularly for its Rabies shots to the clinic at Petco. I was recently told that some vets will not vaccinate a cat over 10 years old as it will have built up immunity and the vaccine may do more harm than good. What is your take on this? My cat is 10 - had a 3-yr rabies shot nearly three years ago, so is due about now. I am not sure what to do.

Thanks so much,
Liz

Hi I am sorry but I cannot give an opinion on this as I am not a vet and also i live in the Uk where rabies is not really an issue.

I think your best bet is to contact a independent vet not one that belongs to a chain where unfortunately they are driven by profit. A independent vet will be able to advise whether or not your cat should be vaccinated in your area and also at his age etc/

best wishes Kate
