Hi
well in my opinion a vet has years of experience with these sort of situations and so you have to trust their advice. After all it is not in the vets interest to harm your cat in any way.

Also if the kittens are large then it will probably be impossible for your cat to have them naturally and may have to have a ceserian birth anyway. This is a operation rather than just a injection to induce the birth a little sooner before the kittens get too big to be able to be born naturally.

I understand that you must be anxious, who wouldn't be. But you have to trust someone who has years of experience. I'm sure all will be well.

best wishes Kate

Ultrasound!!
by: Anonymous

Hi, firstly if the vet is that concerned, he/ she should have offered you an ultrasound to check on the kittens gestational progress and I could be wrong but I think there is also a bloof test of some sort they can perform also to get an idea of what stage of pregnancy the mother is in. I'd get a second opion from another vet. But thats just me! You should be able to safely trust your vets advice though. Hope all goes well. Good luck. :-)
