shakes his tale?!

Hi, my cat (male, 2 years old) shakes his tale! He does it A LOT now (I've never seen this before). He does it when he sees me; when he comes close to me...when he's waiting for food! It looks like he's happy (satisfied). I was wondering if it's normal or not?!

He does it only when he's in contact with hi...otherwise he does not.
Thanks, looking forward, Natalya

I think this is a common cat thing to do. every cat i have ever had has done this too. It is like they are over excited and are trembling with anticipation.

If he only does it when he sees you then i wouldn't worry about it. Check the tail to make sure their are no mites etc or skin condition which may be causing him distress but by the sounds of it, it just sounds like happy cat syndrome as i like to call it.

Tail shaking - question
by: EmVar

Hi, I was wondering if it could be a sign of them wanting to spray at all? With my cat it's a similar sort of tense rear-end / shake as when I've seen her having a wee (just as she finishes up).

Thanks,
Em
