Siamese, 11 years old, skittish and not eating much

Our cat Shelby is not eating much (will eat her treat, tuna but not seeing her eat much cat food or water. She is not acting her usual curious and loving self. This happened about a month ago and we took her to the vet, they couldn't find anything wrong with her, gave her a steroid shot to increase her appetitite and she was fine in 24 hours. Don't want to run to the vet again for another $150 bill. What's the deal? Totally indoor cat and her environment has not changed. She's my baby and I'm concerned.

Hi
Well it is difficult to say for sure what could be wrong and it may be age related. As cats get older their behaviro and appitie can change and at first it may seem rather unuausl and appear to be an illness.

However not eating much at all is not normal and unfortunately as this keeps happening if it were me i would be seeking a second opinion from another vet who may want to do some more tests.

I do hope there is nothing wrong and that it is simply old age creeping up on her.

best wishes Kate
