Skin Problems

What causes a cat to develop scabs on the body. I use advantage for the fleas. If given a cortozone shot it clears up for awhile, but that gets expensive. What can I use?

Skin conditions in cats can be similar to those in humans like eczema. They are may be caused by being in contact with something that has irritated the skin or could even be a stress related condition.

Has the vet not given you any indication of what may be causing the problem, when they give the injection?

You really need to know for sure what the condition is. I.e. could it be caused by an allergic reaction to something that needs to be removed from the cats environement to allow the scabs to clear up. It may even be a food intollerance.

I use "The Only Natural Pet Store" for help with my own cats and they do have a skin section. If your vet cannot give you any help these natural remedies may be able to help. This is only my suggestion and I am not encouraging you to use them.

I know scabs can be a very unpleasant condition and can be uncomfortable for the cat as well, I do hope you can find something that helps to get rid of them.
Best wishes Kate
