Slow and Sad Kitty - behavior change

by Kelly
(Quincy, MA)

Hello, our cat is super old. Probably at least 15. She is super duper loud (meowing heard around the world!) and acts almost like a dog. She often barks at the dinner table for food. She begs for food when we make dinner or eat in front of the TV. It is very comical. Over the last few days this behavior has stopped. She is very lethargic, not running to the kitchen to beg when we are preparing food. Not begging while eating. She is moving very slow around the house. And lastly and maybe sort of important, she is peeing about every 20 minutes. We are worried. Thoughts? Your guidance would be much appreciated!

well it could be anything really especailly as she is quite old. It may be a UTI infection

However the urination may just be one symptoms caused by her distress if she is feeling unwell.

To be honest with you, you should not delay in taking her to the vets, it may be something which they can treat for easily and stop her suffering. Also the quicker illness can be caught the better chance there is of a cure.

It really is impossible to say for sure what is wrong and her symptoms can be caused by many many different illnesses etc.

I hope the vet can help soon

best wishes Kate
