sores on kitty ears

My 8 month old kitty has little sores around his ears. It seems to be getting worse. what is it and how can I treat it?

well it could be that your catch is causing the sores himself by scratching them rigorously. This itching could be caused by ear mites. Please see this page for more information on this issue

Also make sure your cat does not have fleas as this too could cause him to scratch a lot.

If the problem persists after you have ruled out and or treated for either of the above issues then you will have to have a vet take a look at the ears. they may become infected and need antibiotics and or their may be a skin condition which a vet will have to do tests for.
