my cat is normally really friendly towards me and lets me hold him and pet him. About a week or two ago he got a cut on his side but he has been letting me hold him. This morning he didnt eat any of his food and later he was laying in a chair outside and i tried to pick him up and he growled at me. I came home from work and he was inside laying on the floor, i tried to pet him and he started growling oddly. I stopped petting him and he would just randomly growl on his own. I dont know whats wrong with him, please help.

Hi it sounds to me like he may be in some discomfort possibly from the would. there may have been more damaged caused than you first thought.

cats will growl when they want to be left alone and if they are in pain then this is usually what they want.

My advice would be to take him to the vets as soon as you can to have him checked over. If there is more problems due to the cut then the sooner he is treated the better.

best wishes Kate
