why does my cat like to sleep on my neck when i am sleeping

unfortunately this is similar to asking how long is a peice of string. there is no definate answer I'm afraid.

i have known many cats that like to sleep close to their owners heads at night. Some say its because they like to smell your breath, perhaps they find it comforting. or it could be because this is the only bit of you they can get at as the rest of you is under the sheets and so the warmest place to be.

It's nothing to worry about but can be quite annoying if you are trying to get to sleep.
