Why is my cat acting strange?

My 3 year old cat Petey started acting funny a week ago. He is a rather large cat even though I only feed him 1 cup of food a night. A week ago he stopped eating but then within a few days, started up again but is not finishing his food completely like he normally does. He has also been going to the litter box more frequently and cleaning himself like crazy in his private area. Then tonight he started moaning like he was in pain and was walking like he was in pain and very slowly. What is wrong with my cat???

One thing for sure is that there is definitely a health problem. These symptoms suggest that your cat is feeling ill or is in some discomfort.

it is very difficult to say what the problem could be as it could be several things and only an examination from a vet will be able to say for sure.

he may have constipation

He may have blocked or painful anal glands

He may have worms

Or he may have a stomach problem or even a parasite issue. It really is impossible to say and so i think your best option for your cat is to take him to see a vet sooner rather than later to prevent any further possible suffering and also to make sure that the problem does not get any worse.
