Worried about my cats sudden weight loss

My male cat is about 6 years old now, he is a rescue cat so we dont know his exact age. I have noticed that he suddenly feels very skinny and considerably smaller. Is this possibly due to his age? We have two other cats a female that is about 3 years and her male kitten that is 1 and a half years. They are both strong healthy cats and only eat hills science diet. Should I get him a special diet for mature pets or do you think it is a more srious problem. I can only get him to the vet in 4 days time. Thanks in advance

Hi
well 6 years old is not old at all for a cat. When they reach 12 you can start to think of your cat as getting on but even then thats no age at all.

Weight loss in cats can be caused by m,any things and all need to be checked out by a vet, 4 days time is fine, book him in now.

My cat had a thyroid problem which caused her weight loss, this was easily fixed with medication. So don't worry in the mean time, but do book him in as soon as possible.

best wishes Kate
