young cat pregnant and aggressive

My one year old cat is approx five weeks pregnant for the first time. She keeps hissing at her sister for apparently no reason and also hissed at me today when I went to stroke her. Is she ok ?

Hi well she may be feeling under the weather and this can make a cat fearful which in turn they act aggressively to.
However it is difficult to say whether at this stage she needs to see a vet or whether she is just in a bad mood.
My advice would be to monitor her over the next few days, try and allow her space to be alone etc, this will help her to calm down and relax again. Perhaps keep her in one room for a day or so so that she is not bothered by the other cat. Sometimes cats just need a time out once in awhile.
If her behavior remains aggressive then if it were me and this is not her normal behavior, i would take her to see a vet in case her aggression is down to ill health.
Unfortunately many young cats get pregnant early on and this is not necessarily a good thing for the cat or the kittens. the young cat is still developing themselves and may not be strong enough to support a litter.
If in doubt always seek a vets opinion, its better to be safe than sorry.
hope she is ok again soon
