young cat

hi my name is beth. i have a 7 month old cat named katie lou. she has a small amount of dried blood on her vagina .it does not appear that she is in heat.( no loud meows or wanting to go outside) however she is an inside outside cat she spends more time indoors than out. i have noticed that she is sleeping more these days more than the norm... i am wondering if this is a sign of her getting ready for a heat? or maybe a male cat got to her as like humans we bleed the first time we have sex?

any answers will be gladly appriciated how long are there heats and how long are they pregnant? thank you beth

Hi well unfortunately I cannot give you a definatel answer one way or the other but at 7 months it is quite possible that she is having her first heat or indeed that she may have been mated. Cat mating can be quite brutal).

Unfortunately it is not always possible to tell if a cat is pregnant until quite late in the pregnancy ( a vet may be able to test). If she is well in every other way then all you can do is wait and see, if other symptoms appear then a trip to the vets would be the best option.
